Sound Beach — Controlling Stormwater Runoff And Erosion
This property in Sound Beach, NY was slowly sliding off into the Long Island Sound due to stormwater runoff emanating from the upland watershed. The lawn that grew essentially up to the bluff did little to slow the erosion, while compaction associated with mowing and stormwater flow continued to exacerbate the problem.

The project was generously funded by the Nassau County Soil and Water Conservation District.
